Continuous wave Bessel beams with a strong longitudinal acceleration in free space

چکیده

A variety of transversely accelerating optical beams, such as Airy, Mathieu, and Weber have been proposed intensively studied in the past few decades, while longitudinal acceleration beams free space has considered much less mostly for ultrashort pulses. In this work, we create two-component continuous wave Bessel that exhibit extremely high space, with group velocity changing by a factor 10 just centimeters propagation. The beam components are co-propagating interfering can different frequencies angular spectra. We also demonstrate large-magnitude negative velocities zero-group-velocity modes beam. measured interferometrically, using common-path interferometer. measurement results agree well theoretical predictions. presented methods to control measure light expected attract attention researchers working on interferometry, ultrafast optics, nonlinear tweezers.

Free-space delay lines and resonances with ultraslow pulsed Bessel beams.

We investigate the ultraslow motion of polychromatic Bessel beams in unbounded, nondispersive media. Control over the group velocity is exercised by means of the angular dispersion of pulsed Bessel beams of invariant transverse spatial frequency, which spontaneously emerge from near-field generators. Temporal dynamics in transients and resonances over homogeneous delay lines (dielectric slabs) ...

Bessel Beams 2 Solution 2.1 Solution via the Wave Equation

where ρ = √ x2 + y2. Then, the problem is to deduce the form of the radial function f(ρ) and any relevant condition on the wave number kz, and to relate that scalar wave function to a complete solution of Maxwell’s equations. The waveform (1) has both wave velocity and group velocity equal to ω/kz. Comment on the apparent superluminal character of the wave in case that kz < k = ω/c, where c is ...

Adaptive free-space optical communications through turbulence using self-healing Bessel beams

We present a scheme to realize obstruction- and turbulence-tolerant free-space orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing link by using self-healing Bessel beams accompanied by adaptive compensation techniques. Compensation of multiple 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) data carrying Bessel beams through emulated atmospheric turbulence and obstructions is demonstrated. The obtaine...

A Tale of Two Beams: Gaussian Beams and Bessel Beams

An overview is given of two types of focused beams, Gaussian beams and Bessel beams. First I describe some of the basic properties of Gaussian beams in homogeneous media which stay collimated over a certain distance range after which they diverge. Bessel beams are then described which are among a class of solutions to the wave equation that are diffraction-free and do not diverge when they prop...
